Railway Recruitment Board RRB is going to conduct the RRB Senior Section Engineer exam on December 21, 2014 in which large numbers of candidates are going to appeared to get qualified. RRB SSE Exam 2015 Pattern & Syllabus:

The written exam will be of 150 questions of time limit of 2 hours and there will be Negative Marking of 1/3 Marks in the exam. The exam will includes the Technical Ability and General Science and General Awareness, Arithmetic, General Intelligence and Reasoning of 90 and 60 questions respectively.

RRB Senior Section Engineer Exam Syllabus:

General Intelligence & Reasoning: There can be some questions asked from, spatial visualization, problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, verbal and figure classification, arithmetical number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, statement conclusion, syllogistic reasoning, arithmetic reasoning, spatial orientation, visual memory, analogies, similarities and differences.

Arithmetic:  Algebra Basic algebra, polynomials, Arithmetic Simple & compound interest, installments, taxation,  percentage , shares & dividends, Ratio & proportion, time, distance & work, profit & loss, Mensuration, Problem on Ages, Pipes & Cisterns, Investment etc. From Data Interpretation Use of Tables and Graphs, Histogram, Frequency polygon, Bar-diagram, Pie chart, Pictorial Graph, Algebra Basic algebra,  factors & simplification.

Civil Engineering: Mechanics, Structural Analysis, Concrete Structures, Steel Structures, Soil Mechanics, Fluid Mechanics and Hydraulics, Hydrology, Water requirements, Highway Planning, Importance of surveying, principles and classifications, mapping concepts, coordinate system, map projections, leveling, theodolite traversing, plane table surveying, errors and adjustments, curves, Costing and Valuation & Building Materials, Bridge Construction,  Environmental Engineering, Estimating, Traffic Engineering, measurements of distance and directions

Mechanical Engineering: Theory of Machines, Design for static and dynamic loading, Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer, Thermodynamics, Power Engineering, Steam Tables, Rankine, Brayton cycles with regeneration and reheat, I.C. Engines: air-standard Otto, Engineering Mechanics, Strength of Materials, Diesel cycles, Metal Casting, Machining and Machine Tool Operations, Metrology and Inspection.

Electrical Engineering: Electric Circuits and Fields, Electrical Machines, Power Systems, Control Systems, Electrical and Electronic Measurements, Basics of Circuits and Measurement Systems, Analog and Digital Electronics, Power Electronics and Drives. In Electrical Engineering Key Subject for RRB exam is Electrical Machines, Basics of circuit & Power Electronics, Signals and Systems

More weight age will be given to Basics of Circuits and Measurement Systems, Transducers, Measurement & Control Systems.

    I am B.Tech(IT) applied for Sr. Section Engineer (Signal, Telecomunication as well as S&T). My exam is on Tuesday, 1st Sept 2015.
    How do I prepare ? Which syllabus to follow ?
    From which Technical Ability, questions will be asked for Signal, Telecomunication and S&T ?
